Driving Goals: Honor and Glory
An American martial artist who is an expert at blind fighting. He grew up in a rough city where fighting was a way of life. There he was trained by the blind Ninjitsu master, Yashiro Matsusake.
Eventually Ben left and traveled around the world, learning new styles, and merging them with his own blind fighting style. He eventually wound up in the mysterious Jusenkyou training ground, where he slipped and fell into Nyanniichuan (the same spring Ranma fell into) while practicing a new technique. For some odd reason he looks just like Ranma as a girl
He found a use for both his fighting skills and his curse, doing stunts for both sexes for martial arts films.
on one of his visits to Japan he visits one of his close friends who had been brutally beaten. Led to believe that Ranma hospitalized him, he pursues Ranma and challenges him. He defeats Ranma, and during the fight he discovers Ranma’s secret. Feeling his victory as a hollow one, Ben challenges Ranma again later, he is interrupted with the news that Happosai had been the one to cause his friend's condition (while chasing Happosai his friend had been trampled by a mob of angry women, hit by a car, and knocked through a wall).
Although he still distrusts Ranma, Ben decides to stay in Japan to try to repay his debt to him, and also to sharpen his fighting skills by challenging anyone he deems a worthwhile opponent (he has a particular dislike for Kuno who mistook him for the pig-tailed girl).
Ben has a medical condition, Systemic Hypoplasia, that makes him look younger than he is, although in his late 20’s he looks 16 (and is annoyed to no end whenever someone refers to him as a kid). He also can only fight blindfolded, (although he has tried to fight with his sight occasionally) he is just to accustomed to blind fighting to be an efficient fighter otherwise.
Weapon: Bo staff (occasionally)
Styles
Ninjitsu (Matsusake school): Unlike Karate, Ninjitsu does not train a fighter to take down an opponent with one powerful punch. Ninjas work their opponent into fatigue, and expose them to telling blows. Using techniques to baffle and confuse their targets, fighters often loose sight of their Ninjitsu opponents. Weapon training is also a large part of Ninjitsu skills. The Matsusake school specializes in Blind Ninjitsu, honing a fighters ability to battle without the aid of sight.
Karate: A style involving hard blows and kicks, a deadly art developed in Japan. Moves are straightforward and deceptively simple.
Kung-Fu: There are many styles of Kung-Fu, from monkey to tiger to praying mantis to eagle. Developed By Shaolin monks in a secluded monastery, this fighting form borrows much from the wisdom of animals and human sages. Kung fu draws philosophies and styles from the vast panorama of Chinese history and myth.
Bo/ Staff fighting: a combination of Karate with the use of a Bo or staff, this style is great for long range attacks. Keeping distance between the practitioner and the opponent is to the advantage of the practitioner.
Muay Thai: The power of this art is in the legs, and kickboxers develop powerful legs indeed. While this style is not very mobile, it has blindingly fast combinations.
Tae Kwon Do: This art involves powerful kicks above all else. Power, grace and speed are all combined to make this art both deadly and beautiful. Aerial displays are often a trademark of a style born in Korea.
Wu-Shu: A wild acrobatic and showy art developed in China. There are many substyles of Wu-Shu, and many practitioners enter the Chinese Olympics to compete.
Kapoken: A deadly close-in technique that requires quick forceful movements. The users of this art must be fast, often using multiple open palm or ridge-hand strikes at close range. Quick KO’s are a trademark of this style.
Boxing: Classic heavyweight Boxing is a favorite American sport. It relies on devastating punches to knock an opponent into submission. Boxers have very fast Hands and can deliver punishing blows. They’ve also learned how to protect themselves from similar injury.
House of Richtenhielm: this style requires the user to be in perfect harmony with his surroundings. The focus of the user’s chi is an essential part of the fighting style. Powerful energy attack are part of the Art’s usage. Unlike most other styles, the House of Richtenhielm works off of the user’s stamina rather than their strength, the level of the opponents stamina increases the output of the user’s chi.
