Not many people know about the past of Mary Rian, the bounty hunter who would be known as Blue Mary. Her father was a secret agent for the U.S. government, and so was her fiancée, Butch. Her Father accepted the relationship between her and Butch openly. Butch was the one to teach her Commando Sambo as a self-defense technique. Mary quickly developed a knack for the style, however, and her skill exceeded that of her ‘trainer’.

Happiness didn’t last long for Mary, she lost both her father and her fiancée when they tried to protect the U.S. president from an assassination attempt.

Mary, still remembers Butch with fondness, but has moved on with her life. She uses the Bar that she and Butch used to hang out in with as her working place. (There’s even a cocktail there named after her.)

She has some interest in Terry Bogard, and the two are presently dating
